SKY-HIGH WALLS VS. WINGED IDEAS

We got a two-room exhibition at Weimar while the “Rundgang 08″ was running. This was a chance to get in contact with industrial designers and of course a whole bunch of interesting artists, with whom we hope to develop new products and ideas.

Our exhibition explored the past and the future of Blouzaat, all at once. This was a great opportunity to present the next generation of Blouzaat, our first work born out of our cross cultural dialogue concept. Those artworks, a cooperation between Ahmad Sabbagh and our friend “Keos”, dealt directly with the “wall”. The wall concerns Germans as well as Palestinians, but it’s also a global issue, affecting all nationalities, and all races. Fortunately the wall in Germany no longer exists, but there is yet one left to tear down. Walls of insecurity and fear, of oppression and segregation, can not be allowed to exist.

C-SECTIONS AND PLAYROOMS

Witness the birth of Blouzaat Blog, It’s been a messy, bloody birth and here we are, loud and screaming our lungs out.

We’ve got some exciting news in our first official blog post:

A dark, black, gritty room was basically dropped in our laps to play with as we please. The textured walls were painted black, dim lights shed long shadows across the tiled ground, and it was all ours. Dunia (Art and Music Cafe) told us to go wild, and they didn’t have to say it twice. Our hands itching, we got to work to make this into a playroom with a whole new meaning. Using the concept of this play room, which will have Wii, playstation, a pool table and bean bags strewn around, we splashed video game iconography, chaotic scenes and typographic messages wherever we can reach.

Many thanks to Romero and Pro4, we had a blast!

Check out the images below and see what we’ve done with the place.
